Wandrian Press is a small independent house publishing gothic supernatural horror and elegiac poetry, in English and Turkish. Few titles, hand-selected and shaped when they are ready.
We are the coordinated alternative for readers who have stopped trusting the recommendation. Our shadow-lineage runs through Poe, Rilke, the Brontës, Angela Carter, John Langan, Cemal Süreya. What we care about: how a book reads in ten years, how it feels in the hand, whether a story teaches something the reader didn't want to know, whether a poem aches.
If a book doesn't, we don't put our name on it. The mark on our spine is a small promise: someone stayed with this.
Why we exist
The book market has flattened into an algorithm-optimized product line. Even the imprints that once meant something now calibrate for a fifteen-second visual hook, TikTok Shop conversion, and the launch-week window that decides everything and then closes. Books that are too slow, too strange, or too beautiful for that funnel don't get picked up. Readers who want those books have quietly stopped trusting the recommendation.
Wandrian Press is for that shelf. The one where a book earns its place because someone stayed with it, not because it moved units in the first ten days.
What we publish
A short catalog with a shared aesthetic sensibility.
The Auraboros Cycle by Prashant Kaw. A sprawling saga of literary supernatural horror, with a constellation of novellas orbiting it. Memory as geometry. The weight of what we carry.
Dönüşüm by Kuzgun. Elegiac poetry, published bilingually in Turkish and English. Lyrical, symbolic, mystical. In the tradition of Rilke, Poe, and the Turkish verse that follows the same current.
Waker's Folly by Pax Zaag. Cyberpunk crossed with cosmic horror. A world where the machines dream. And what dreamed them dreams back.
Other work will follow, chosen to belong. Never wide.
The closed door
We don't take submissions. Every book we publish is written by someone we know. Someone whose taste we already trust, whose work we've been reading for years before it became a manuscript. That means our catalog stays small. It also means the mark on every spine is honest: someone we vouch for was in the room for every choice.
If that expands, it will be by invitation, one author at a time. The door stays curated.
Form and object
We are building toward a standard where every book is a designed object: paper, binding, endpapers, spine, the way it sits open on a table. That standard takes time. Right now our books are printed via IngramSpark and KDP; we compared the two format by format and picked the better for each. Honest paper, real care on the covers, no shortcuts we can control.
As the press finds its readers, we intend to move toward short-run offset for signed and limited editions, alongside the standard reader editions. What we can promise, we promise. What we can't yet promise, we don't.
Who we are
Our authors: Prashant Kaw (The Auraboros Cycle), Kuzgun (Dönüşüm), Pax Zaag (Waker's Folly), and Vivek Kaw (Thorn of Forgotten).
The house operates out of Bedford, Massachusetts. A small New England town of stone walls and old graveyards, which the Auraboros Cycle takes as its ground.
What we owe you
We won't send you noise. Our newsletter, the Reader Hub, arrives when a book has arrived, and stays quiet in between. When we ask for your time, we've earned it or we haven't. That's for you to decide, one book at a time.
If a book of ours doesn't teach you something you didn't want to know, if a poem doesn't ache, we hope you tell us. That's the contract.
The mark on our spine is a small promise: someone stayed with this.
