Elegiac Poetry Collection
Becoming. A four-book arc of elegiac poetry.
by Kuzgun
Dönüşüm. Transformation, becoming. A four-book arc of lyric poems written in Turkish and English, side by side. The books are meant to be met as a family, not consumed as a course. Each one is complete on its own; each opens a door to the next.
The arc traces a single figure across four registers of the same interior weather:
The path through this arc is not linear. You sometimes feel Şahit, and sometimes you are back in Işığım. Underneath, the shadow.
Love is not linear.
The Turkish leads. The English follows. Some things become clearer when they cannot be perfectly translated. The poems live less in either language than in the distance between them.

The Author
Kuzgun writes in Turkish and English from somewhere between them. He takes his name from the raven, witness, memory, the one who watches from the wall. He does not give interviews, and prefers that the poems arrive without him.
Kuzgun, karga. In these pages the raven is not an omen but a witness: the bird that stays on the wall after everyone has gone, keeping what it saw.
